Varieties: Chenin Blanc, Viognier
Type: White Wine
Size: 750ml
Region & Country: Swartland, South Africa
Description: The Swartland had always been dominated by co-operative wine production and was not until the 2000s that the region had started seeing an influx of talent, focused on producing higher quality, terroir focused wines. Husband and wife duo, David and Nadia are an example of such winemakers, having met while studying Viticulture and Oenology at the University of Stellenbosch. They would then go on to work in various wineries and had set up their own eponymous winery in 2010.
Their wines are modern and polished but you still get a characterful wine that displays great typicity of Swartland wines. The Aristargos is a blend of mostly Chenin Blanc but with the rest consisting of Clairette Blanche, Sémillon, Roussanne, Viognier and Marsanne from 14 different vineyards.
