Varieties: Gouveio, Viosinho, Malvasia Fina, Rabigato
Type: Orange Wine
Region & Country: Douro, Portugal
Description: Miguel Morais had inherited about 17 hectares of high quality vineyards in the Douro from his grandfather in 2007, whose fruit had always been sold to prominent Port wine houses in the past. That all changed in 2014 when Morais decided on producing his own light wines with the help of experienced ex-Niepoort winemaker Luis Seabra.
This wine is made with only local Portugese varieties such as Gouveio and Viosinho making most of the blend. Skin maceration lasts for about two weeks in concrete tanks. A very well balanced wine and amongst the most approachable orange wines out there.
