Region & Country: Bierzo, Spain
Type: Red Wine
Description: The Mencía grape variety produces wines that are light to medium bodied, depending on where it has been planted. In Bierzo the wines tend to be medium bodied, soft in tannins with a very fresh acidity. The wine is floral and elegant, with the spicy and savoury flavours of Grenache. This winery is run by the nephew of Alvaro Palacios, Ricardo Perez. Alvaro is a pioneer of the wines of Priorat, whose expertise has lent a hand to improving the quality of the wines of Descendientes de J. Palacios.
