Description: A family owned winery that produced its first vintage in 2004, but have had their hands in vine growing and winemaking since the 50s. The winery has now been very actively introducing new and better wines with each vintage, the quality of the current line up a testament to this.
The '34' cuvée is made with older vines of Assyrtiko, planted on heavily volcanic soils from 3 different vineyards. About 10% of the wines ferment in oak and spends about 8 months on its lees prior to release. 34 centuries ago, the island of Santorini was re-inhabited after one of the most devastating, or 'awe-inspiring' - as it says on the label - volcanic eruptions on the island. This is what inspired the name for this particular wine. Austere and mineral with a touch of cream, this wine is complex and nuanced, great with fresh seafoods and vegetables.
